The slide at the river has grown a lot. I would estimate it's at least eight times larger than last year. If you click on the picture above it will enlarge and you can see where an entire tree, that is rooted on top of a large rock, fell from the hill. For several days, many times during the day and night, chunks of the earth fell into the river. We could hear all of this in our house. The dogs were especially agitated by the noise resulting in lengthy barking fits.
I haven't heard any more earth falling for the past few days. Hopefully the land will find a new balance and the vegetation will return. The photo above shows what the river looks like after a heavy rain.
