Rainy Season Fungus

The first photo is the stinky stinkhorn mushroom. I see them every rainy season. This was the first time I saw six in one location. This one was in the best condition, the others were in more advanced stages of decay. The other two photos were from a large branch that fell to the ground.

Is the odor of the stinky stinkhorn fungus like that of dirty socks or rotten vegetables or eggs? The intricate lace-like appearance intrigues!
It is a pretty thing, however it smells like rotting flesh!
No, thank you. I would stay away from that fungus. Whew!
