Happy New Egg!

 

The day finally arrived! There is a plastic basket in the coop that I intended for the girls to use as their nest. Up until now all they have done in there is push the wood shavings around looking for food. This morning I was tidying up the shavings in the basket and buried in there were two eggs.

I thought the time was close because lately some of the chickens have been squatting when I approach them. I read this behavior is usually for a rooster. I'm calling it the "squat of respect". I think they like me.
