Scarlet Macaw
A small flock of Scarlet Macaws flew through the property several times in November. I believe on the first flyby they realized the trees they feed from last year in the neighboring property were gone. They make a loud, distinct call and when I heard it the second time I went to the edge of the cliff and watched them flying low up through the gorge. That was a beautiful sight! The last time I saw them they landed in the tree on the edge of the cliff. I was so thrilled to see them so close. Fortunately, there was enough time for me to quickly observe and then run for the camera. Six of them were in the tree. The photos above are all of the same pair.
