Statues of toads can be found all throughout the center of town. Probably the most famous one, and currently best maintained, is located in the park. Other similar monuments are scattered around town. Toads can also be seen on concrete garbage cans. All of the toad garbage cans are in pretty sad shape and desperately need to be repainted. I did notice that the toads on the garbage cans all have belly buttons, how cute! The toad, or sapo in Spanish, are a sign of fertility, something that is important to this agricultural community.
