Aquatic Life in Rio Viejo, Puriscal
The day I visited the yellow flowers in the river I discovered I could capture some of the aquatic life with the telephoto lens. The first photo is a crab, partially concealed in algae, waiting for a tadpole to swim into his claws.
In the second photo I managed to get the entire school of four big fish. In the past I said they were six inches long, however I think the smallest is six and the largest one foot long.
An interesting dynamic was happening in the third picture. A fish and a crab appeared to be having a conversation. The fish wouldn't go away and squarely faced the crab. This went on for several minutes until the crab retreated.
The last photo shows some type of algae eater on a rock along with several tadpoles.
