Yesterday I took a walk through the property to the big spring area. This isn't the spring accessed up the river, it's on land. Usually at the end of the rainy season there is a seasonal waterfall there, but this year there was just a trickle. Water was flowing from a spring near the base of the huge rock face. The same orange slime mold that grows in the spring in the gorge is growing here. As I took a series of photos a hummingbird flew in to drink the water. I was lucky to get one picture of her. Even though the camera wasn't set up for the high speed of the bird, it's still visible.
