Puriscal's first big box store opened recently. It's called Maxi Pali and is owned by Walmart. We waited for the rush around the grand opening to calm down and then toured the store. There is already a Pali supermarket in town and this is simply a larger version carrying the same brands of mostly food stuff. They do sell a variety of other things, but nothing that warrants a weekly shopping experience. I determined the best thing about the new Maxi Pali is the view from the parking lot. The store is perched on top of a hill and has a nice distant view of the central valley.
