Crystal Rocks in Rio Viejo
One thing I enjoy doing is to scour the river's edge after the water calms down from a rain induced surge. Yesterday morning I found something I have never seen before. An ottoman size rock fell from a steep river bank and in it were crystal formations in excellent condition.
This rock fell from a place where the rocks aren't very solid. I imagine with many more rains and poundings on other rocks this one will begin falling apart.
I often find remnants of these clusters, but by the time they have broken free from the main rock and have been tumbled in the river, they no longer look like this.
Each of these clusters were about the size of my hand.
