I found this very unusual fungus on the short cut trail to the river. There were two of them, this one was in better shape. An internet search leads me to believe this is a variety of the stinkhorn fungus I posted pictures of in the past. This one had no foul smell and was about four inches long. I went back the next day to look at them and they had disappeared without a trace.
