This is a picture of the lone, large tree on the steep mountain side that we view from the back of our house. We've heard many stories from the past, about this hillside and the rest of our property being set on fire. That is a common practice in Costa Rica to clear the jungle and to keep it clear for livestock. This large Guapinol tree survived many of those fires. I think the property is happy we are here, no more burning, no more plant killing chemicals and we give it the freedom to be raw nature.
