Yesterday a Fiery-billed Aracari came in front of our house. I was so thrilled to see an aracari in the wild for the first time! At first I just observed him because the camera was not out. I didn't want to miss the opportunity to see this beautiful bird because I was digging through our stuff for the camera. After a while it seemed he was hanging around so I quickly got the camera and managed to get these two photos.
The other day I saw another exotic bird called the Blue-crowned Motmot. There were two in the yard. It was early morning so I was unable to get a good picture of the colors on this bird. They have an unusual tail with a "tennis racket" end. Our landlady told me that they do a mating dance on the ground in front of her house. I would like to see that!
