Birds of Puriscal

keel-billed toucan
I noticed a backlog of bird photos on my computer so I thought I would share with you. Above is the ever lovely Keel-billed Toucan. Whenever this bird is around I always stop what I am doing and watch it. As I type this now I can hear one giving her call in the distance.

Gray-headed ChachalacasThese are the Gray-headed Chachalacas. They always roam in flocks and can be quite noisy at times.

Streak-headed Woodcreeper
I believe this is the Streak-headed Woodcreeper. I took this picture from the balcony outside our cabina.

Laughing FalconAbove is a shot of the Laughing Falcon also taken from around our living area. I am yet to identify many of the bird songs I hear. Recently, by chance, I happened to see three Long-tailed Manakins near one of the forested spring areas. I have seen the bird before but didn't realize it has three distinct calls, all of which I witnessed that day at the spring. I was happy to finally put the bird together with some of the songs I had been listening to in that area.
