I reported a few months ago that the giant kapok tree was blooming for the first time in five years. Over the past several months the avocado sized seed pods formed.
Just in the past few days the green pods opened to reveal the soft fibery fluff that encloses the seeds. Yesterday we watched a gust of wind blow thousands of cotton ball sized fluffs through the valley. It was a spectacular sight.
