Beautification Efforts in Puriscal

A few weeks ago I went into town. One of the items on the to do list was to pay the annual property taxes. Pictured above is the room where transactions are made with the Municipality. Large windows were open to the street behind me and the echo of noises in the room was impressive.

I noticed a large poster on the wall showing plans to beautify a few streets in town. The picture above shows just one part of the poster. The other parts showed more detail what the street benches, trash cans, street lights, concrete planters and trees would look like. It also showed a designated bike path. It looks like an ambitious upgrade to me.

The current mayor of Puriscal has been busy doing projects that are for the community. One of the upgrades was building this amphitheater in centro's park. Several years ago a wind storm blew over many old trees that lived in this space. Now it has a built in stage, seating and fake grass. A sand volleyball court is being constructed behind the green fence. Also, the exercise equipment that was in the back left has been replaced with things for children to play on. I didn't think the exercise equipment was a good idea and apparently others felt the same way.
