The Pochote trees are now in bloom, however the flowers tend not to be that showy on the tree. They are more easily seen on the ground, or floating in the river.
This time of year the tree is completely bare of leaves. This gigantic Pochote is on our neighbor's property but in view from our house. The diameter, near the base, of this old spiny tree is around six feet. It's a wonder it has stood so long.
