I held my breath as we drove by this man spraying herbicide in the ditch. I have never seen people wear protective gear as they spray poison on the earth. They are either ignorant or believe it's not harmful. Costa Rica uses a large amount of chemicals to grow food and control unwanted plants. Chemical use and garbage/sewage disposal are, for me, the downsides of Costa Rica.
