This advertisement was handed out at the farmer's market a few weeks ago. The hardware store El Cedral held an expo that offered financing for house construction. There aren't a lot of details on the flyer, but it appears a two bedroom, one bath house can be built for less than $8000. I don't know what that price includes. I would guess it is only for basic materials, however, the construction plans are free. The current exchange rate is 560 colones to the US dollar.
