Last week, I went to the post office in Santiago de Puriscal to pick up my DIMEX card. It appeared the man behind the counter was expecting me. I didn't have to say anything, he said "cedula?" I said yes and he pulled it out of a box, entered some things in the computer and gave me my new card. The card is good for five years.

Afterwards, we did some shopping and I took a few photos. I'm feel more bold to photograph people on the street now that their identity of partly obscured with a mask. In the past (pre-masks) it felt a little invasive, but no more! The man above is buying lottery tickets. I have never bought a ticket and do not follow it, but I know it's extremely popular in Costa Rica.
