Two noisy parrots high in a tree caught my attention. On a branch not far below was a juvenile Double-toothed kite. Its head was twisted back and up, looking at the parrots. The parrots flew away and the kite began surveying the area. The bird had a good view of the chicken palace so I did a quick check of the structure to be sure it wasn't eyeing an opening I was unaware of.
The following morning, I went on a photography walk with my favorite close-up lens. After passing the chicken palace I saw two juvenile kites in a nearby tree. I quietly inched closer and closer to get these photos. I watched them for a few moments and then continued the walk.
