green round gourds and bromeliads gone to seed

A number of air ferns, or bromeliads grow on the gourd tree. I found this arrangement very unusual and interesting.

The bromeliad sent out a flower stock and went to seed. These seeds blow in the wind and latch on to other trees and the process continues.

This gourd tree has been very prolific. I read you can eat the insides of the gourd, but I have never tried it. I also read horses like to eat them and help disperse the seeds. They are more commonly dried out and turned into various things like bowls, cups and even instruments.
