Yet another favorite tree of mine known as Indio Desnudo (Naked Indian) in Costa Rica. It grows all over our property and we use it as a living fence. It's a favorite because the green bark of the tree is very smooth. I also like the delicate, copper colored peeling bark. It reminds me of paper birch trees from the Pacific Northwest.
