Yesterday, I walked down river as far as I could go. I found this interesting sand nest on the journey back home. This is the first nest I have seen made out of coarse sand and the first of this shape. I didn't see anything come or go, but I imagine it was a hefty bug to be able to make something like this. The nest was about two inches in diameter.
